Google Cloud and Accenture form FDE unit to catch up in the AI deployment wars

Google Cloud and Accenture launched the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, a joint unit sending engineers into enterprises to deploy Google's AI tools, joining OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft and Amazon in betting that AI implementation itself can be a trillion-dollar business. Google Cloud generated $24.8 billion in Q2, largely driven by enterprise AI, yet hyperscalers commit hundreds of billions annually to GPUs, data centers and power while directly attributable AI revenue remains a fraction of that. As TechCrunch notes, ROI isn't here yet and enterprise demand is far from guaranteed.
