Per a16z's Charts of the Week, data center construction is going vertical: spend has jumped more than $25B in six months — roughly what it gained over the previous two years combined. Construction job openings have rebounded from a 200k low last year to above 300k.
Tiffani Bova notes AI's job impact is uneven: some data-center roles may be automated, but building them is booming.
