Microsoft set to break another Patch Tuesday record with 650+ Windows fixes as AI models find flaws faster

Per The Verge's Tom Warren, Microsoft is about to set another Patch Tuesday record — its third in just a few months.

• The driver: AI security models accelerating vulnerability discovery. In April, Anthropic's Mythos model found flaws in "every major operating system and web browser," and OpenAI later shipped a cybersecurity-focused model to trusted partners. Sources say both contributed to Microsoft's record summer.
• The numbers: Microsoft typically patches 100 flaws monthly; June hit 200, July patched at least 570 (nearly 3x June), August 400, and September's release reportedly includes over 650 fixes for Windows alone.
