Three first-time founders bootstrapped Imposter AI to $200K revenue and 1M users in 8 months

In December 2025, three people with no app-scaling experience started building their first app, Imposter AI, fully bootstrapped — figuring out product, development, distribution, monetization, content, and a UGC engine on their own. Eight months later it hit #18 on the App Store Family Chart, generated $200K+ in total revenue, and passed 1M total customers, all without outside funding or a playbook. It now forms the foundation of their company TappedIn Apps, with plans to replicate the playbook on future products.
