Daso, an AI computer for kids aged 6–12, has rebranded as Kale after feedback that the original name was hard to remember. The pitch: turn screen time from passive scrolling into active learning.
Key features:
- Creation-first: music making, movie editing, sketching, photo capture, journaling, plus an AI tutor that answers any question
- Parent-controlled comms: PlayTime allows calls only with parent-approved contacts, with no feed to scroll
- Transparency: all contacts and calls visible to parents, no data sold; parents get summaries of what kids explored
- Natural language control: parents text Kale in plain words instead of digging through settings
