Anthropic reportedly walks away from ~$6B Decart acquisition after due diligence
mark_k · x · 2026-09-08
According to Bloomberg, Anthropic has abandoned its planned $6 billion acquisition of Decart after completing due diligence, with no reason disclosed. Decart was valued near $4 billion just months ago, so the deal would have been a substantial premium. Anthropic's interest was reportedly in Decart's optimization stack — extracting more performance from existing chips for training and inference — rather than its better-known world models. The two may still pursue other forms of collaboration.
