Remotion ships whisper-webgpu: in-browser on-device transcription straight to captions
nicodotdev · x · 2026-09-08
Remotion released a batch of new packages, headlined by @remotion/whisper-webgpu: powered by Transformers.js and WebGPU, it transcribes audio entirely in the browser with no server involved, outputting timestamped words that go straight into captions.
Also in the release:
- @remotion/gsap: use GSAP animations inside Remotion
- @remotion/mac-cursors: every Mac cursor as vector graphics
A practical new path for developers building programmatic video or automated captioning pipelines.
