The 2nd SLoMO (Story-Level Movie Understanding & Audio Description) workshop takes place Sept 8, 2026 (afternoon) at ECCV 2026 in Malmö, Sweden.
- Focus: story-level understanding of long-form edited video, requiring long-range narrative modeling, character-relation reasoning, and understanding of editing/cinematography patterns.
- Competition tracks: MovieQA over full story arcs, and Audio Description generation for visually impaired audiences.
- Open questions: fair VLM evaluation given movie-data knowledge leakage, accessibility via movie understanding, and how modeling film structure benefits both understanding and generation.
- Includes invited talks on audio description and accessibility.
