A forwarded post expresses a wistful take: we could have woken up to news that OpenAI and Anthropic teamed up to cleanly, fully formalize Navier-Stokes — complete with a nice explanation by Terence Tao and a path for everyone to improve math together. Alas, the world does not yet work that way, an implicit jab at the industry's failure to collaborate on such milestones.
