ChatGPT 5.6 Sol Users Report Thinking and Web Search Suddenly Broken

A ChatGPT Plus user reports that since yesterday, 5.6 Sol (High Thinking) no longer actually thinks or searches the web: a financial research request gets only 5 seconds of "thinking," the model announces it will analyze the market, then stops. Prompting it to do the research yields an apology and another dead end. Longtime beta users say they've never seen this before and are asking if others are affected.
