Codex's hidden experimental context management setting charges more above ~270k tokens

Brandon Galang shared a Codex tip: enabling the experimental context management setting and raising the max token limit lets GPT-6 Astra manage context by leaving notes to itself, beyond the previous 270k limit. He initially believed the extended context was charged at a flat rate, but Paulo Portella checked OpenAI's official pricing docs and confirmed the extra context does cost more. The setting is hidden in the UI and only works for Codex, not the API.
