A provably optimal strategy for juggling Claude and Codex subscription quotas

On 20x plans, the author burns through Codex in 1 day (resets 2 days) but Claude lasts 4-5 days (weekly reset). Asking two AI models for the idle-time-minimizing usage policy (switching is free), both converged on the same answer:
- If Claude's remaining quota lasts until its reset → use Claude
- Else if Codex has quota → use Codex
- Else if Claude has quota → use Claude
- Else if you have a banked Codex reset → redeem it, use Codex
- Else → no usage left
The author claims the policy is provably optimal — no need to predict Codex resets anymore.
