Developer finds Astra unreliable as an orchestrator, limits it to subagent duties
jdjohnson · x · 2026-09-08
Developer jdjohnson shares his experience using Astra as a task orchestrator: it sends random check-ins to the wrong tasks about things largely irrelevant to their current work, and doesn't seem to track which tasks are actually doing the assigned work or how to manage them over time.
For now he only uses Astra as a subagent rather than letting it start or manage other tasks.
