Minimax H3 runs AI video locally at 720p — impressive but trails Seedance 2.5
SimplyAnnisa · x · 2026-09-08
A hands-on test runs the same style prompt through Minimax H3, an open-weight AI video model running locally on a PC at 720p with 15-second generation, deliberately probing physics in the prompt.
Verdict: quantized and speed-optimized, H3 is clearly weaker at prompt adherence than Seedance 2.5 and other top closed models — it missed the barking, a cart-to-bicycle transformation, and dropped bags early, plus some ghosting artifacts. Still, the author finds it remarkably good for an open-weight model, noting it's also uncensored.
