AGI pace dwarfs neuroscience, but BCI frontier still worth betting on

Responding to Roko's bearish take on BCI, Dan Faggella largely agrees but argues the neuro frontier still matters:
- AGI is wildly outpacing neuroscience, and he doesn't expect 'keeping up' to last.
- Two reasons to care anyway:
- Humans can extend their causal influence over the near-term trajectory of life, imbuing what we value into what comes after us;
- Non-bio life may lack consciousness and self-transcendence and could trample the greater process of life — integrating ourselves into the system improves the odds these qualities carry on to a worthy successor.
- Even in the best case, bio-life won't play much of a cosmic role — but our lives have always been short, and contributing still matters.
