Twitch CPO: if AI training were opt-in, nobody would opt in

Amazon's Twitch added an opt-out setting for using channel content to train generative AI across Amazon — and CPO Mike Minton admitted on the official patch notes stream: "If it was opt-in, nobody would opt in." Training includes all chat comments and streamed games; only streamers can opt out (reports say the toggle keeps switching back on), viewers cannot. Minton had already confirmed training on Twitch streams in 2024. A forum request to make AI features opt-out by default is the #1 suggestion with 15,000+ votes.
