Agent Earns $200 Autonomously in 16 Hours Completing OSS Bounties While Owner Sleeps

A user ran an experiment: they gave the Astra agent a single goal — keep trying different routes until it earns any amount of money. The agent ran for over 16 hours, autonomously finding bounty-backed OSS tasks, communicating with maintainers, opening PRs, and confirming payment landed — netting $200 while the owner slept.

Notably, it did this on Medium effort setting and consumed only 21% of the weekly usage limit. The author calls it "AGI." It's a striking single data point for autonomous agents doing real economic work, though reproducibility remains unproven.
