Sriram Krishnan argues (retweeted by firstadopter) that seeing Astra work with Blender suggests open source tools will have a strong advantage in the AGI era, for two reasons:
- A) The vast amount of online content around open source tools gives models rich training data on how to use them
- B) Open source tools are more programmer-friendly and hackable, making them easier for agents to control and compose
The implication: closed tools' UX edge may be outweighed in an agent-driven paradigm by open ecosystems' data and programmability advantages.
