Dev lets Claude Code build a 10k tok/s CPU model — it makes 3 novel discoveries
HAXXVII_ · x · 2026-09-07
A developer needed a tiny neural net running at 10k tok/s on CPU for data processing, so he handed Claude Code a pile of tokens and let it build one autonomously. It came up with three interesting discoveries along the way (screenshots attached). He argues the community should revisit outrageously small neural nets. In the follow-up, Gregory Diamos adds that after giving Claude 15 minutes of daily feedback for a week, he rates it "not the best MLE I've worked with, but not the worst" — though it needs human nudges like "go read paper X, doesn't that contradict what you just said?" to correct itself.
