Dev trains a Bufo LoRA to mass-produce style-consistent meme toads
emilyzsh · x · 2026-09-08
Engineer emilyzsh trained a Bufo LoRA to automatically generate style-consistent Bufo (toad meme) images for their team's Slack, and opened up inference over Labor Day so anyone can craft "artisanal bufos" at themachinethatbuildsthebufo.com. Training and inference run on Modal's AI infrastructure (she jokes it's because Modal gave her more credits). The recursive meme—"the machine that builds the machine that builds the bufo"—made the post spread widely on X.
