EU moves to ban endless scroll, notification pings and autoplay for minors under DSA

The European Commission announced it will use the Digital Services Act to ban addictive design features aimed at minors, saying it is "putting kids' mental health before Big Tech profits."
Features targeted include:
- Endless scrolling
- Notification 'ding' prompts
- Auto-playing video
The Commission's page also offers practical online-safety guidance for kids and parents, such as using child/teen accounts, limiting screen time, and thinking twice before sharing children's photos online.
