A follow-up note: agentic video understanding in Gemini is not enabled by default in the API — you must set processing to "agentic". The team also published a developer guide. The feature navigates video timelines dynamically instead of ingesting every frame, cutting tokens by up to 88% and costs by up to 66%, and supports YouTube links.
