UBS makes AI skills a hiring requirement from 2027 as 200,000 European banking jobs seen vanishing

Swiss banking giant UBS will require AI skills from 2027 for graduates and interns in Global Banking and Markets, with applicants expected to show in interviews how they use AI to improve outcomes and efficiency. Santander is already seeking advanced AI users.

Morgan Stanley meanwhile predicts more than 200,000 banking jobs in Europe will disappear within five years — AI ability is shifting from bonus to entry requirement.
