Viral post flagged as AI-written reignites debate over AI-polished prose
dbasch · x · 2026-09-07
A poster (@BuckBundeals) went viral only to be widely accused of being AI-written — he admitted using AI to polish his posts, then jokingly proved his humanity with bills, back pain, and a phone-call phobia... in a post also polished by AI.
dbasch's take: AI "polish" makes posts mid, flat, and hard to swallow. Polished prose used to signal an articulate author; now it signals you're a sheep. A snapshot of how AI-flavored writing has become a liability on social media.
