Tencent Hunyuan announced an upgrade to Hy4 preview, addressing user-flagged issues of long thinking and over-verification on complex tasks. The team says task quality is unchanged while turns and both input/output tokens dropped, confirmed by benchmarks and human eval. The underlying Hy4 preview is an open-source frontier model with 770B total params, 49B active and 1M context, pitched for productivity at a consistently affordable price.
