Samsung plans CES 2027 debut for its own humanoid robot, built by new RX unit

Samsung is pushing to show its first general-purpose humanoid robot prototype at CES 2027 in Las Vegas, developed by a new RX unit reporting to DX President Noh Tae-moon. Filings already cover hip joints, next-gen hands, and behavior control.

The org chart is the tell: DX CTO Yoon Jang-hyun owns both hardware and AI software, so body and brain aren't built on separate tracks. This would be Samsung's third robot line after the 2021 BotHandy home prototype and subsidiary Rainbow Robotics' wheeled industrial humanoid RB-Y2, which keeps the factory track while the new robot targets commercial and home service.
