LLM-assisted attacks hit Bitcoin harder, with ~$450M in crypto losses
RSync25 · x · 2026-09-07
giacomozucco argues Bitcoin is hit harder than shitcoins in the new LLM-assisted attack paradigm because it is more liquid, valuable, irreversible and censorship-resistant, while the shitcoin world is desensitized. A likely LLM-assisted Zcash exploit preceded a wave hitting Tectonic, Humanity, AFX, Ostium, BonkDAO, Ekubo, Nominis and others, totaling roughly $450M — comparable to ColdCard, Boltz, BTCPayServer and Liquid combined, with Liquid making up much of the Bitcoin share.
