Hugging Face launches Sandboxes: isolated cloud machines for AI agents, spun up in seconds
mervenoyann · x · 2026-09-07
Hugging Face introduced Sandboxes, an experimental feature in its Hub Python Library for running AI agents in isolated cloud machines. Sandboxes spin up in seconds, let you run commands with live-streamed output and move files in/out via Python or CLI, and are built on top of Jobs. HF cautions shared sandboxes only suit workloads within one trust boundary and don't guarantee protection from cross-sandbox attacks — untrusted workloads need dedicated sandboxes and shouldn't get long-lived, broadly scoped credentials.
