Core thesis: "it works" isn't enough — you must be able to change code safely, detect failures, and recover from bad deployments, via clear specs, modular components, tests, and monitoring.
The book is organized by lifecycle:

- Building: Build in working slices, Inspect agent-written code, Debug, Test
- Engineering: Automate (an AI operating system), Harden, Secure, Protect (user data compliance)
