Predicting the industrial revolution would've looked eschatological — and it would've been right

Andy Masley argues that if he had lived before the industrial or agricultural revolution and could have predicted what was coming, his thinking and behavior would have been correctly described as at least somewhat eschatological — but it would also have been correct. The implication for AI-era change: end-times-flavored forecasting ahead of genuine civilizational shifts can be rational, not alarmist.
