A user reports letting "GPT-6 Astra" play Factorio from a brand-new save with no guidance. The agent first couldn't control the keyboard, wrote itself a plugin to fix that, then autonomously chopped trees for fuel, located iron ore on the map, built a mining drill and a stone furnace (exploiting adjacent-block auto-transfer), then traveled to a coal deposit, mined coal by hand, and refueled the furnace — all at medium effort, stopping and saving after the requested 15 minutes. The author plans a multi-hour run to see how complex a factory it can build. If accurate, this is a striking demo of long-horizon agentic play in a notoriously hard automation game.
