YC premium widens: 35% more funding, 79% higher caps, but 84% less ARR
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-09-07
An investor's week of outreach data shows the YC halo premium has grown over the past year:
- Summer 2026 YC batch companies averaged $3.72M raised with a $32.22M cap — 35.4% and 79.3% higher than non-YC peers
- Yet their average ARR is just $61.7K, 84% below non-YC companies
- Last year the gaps were 23.8%, 65.8%, and -63.2%
Takeaway: YC's funding and valuation premium has widened while its revenue gap has grown even starker.
