GitHub's Spec Kit builds "the engineer who asks annoying questions" for AI agents

The post opens with a team-culture observation: the engineer who refuses to let anyone start coding too quickly — asking what exactly we're building, who it's for, what happens when it fails, what "done" means — seems to slow everyone down for an hour, but saves massive rework three days later when requirements diverge.

GitHub essentially built that engineer for AI coding agents: Spec Kit forces agents to generate and clarify a spec before sprinting into implementation, instead of throwing a raw prompt at them.
