US added 162,000 jobs in August; young workers' AI displacement gap near multi-decade low

The US added 162,000 jobs in August, far above expectations, with unemployment at 4.1%—lower than in almost 90% of months over the past half-century. Young workers, often cast as AI's first victims, show an unemployment gap near a multi-decade low. So far AI has created more white-collar jobs than it has replaced: more creation than destruction.
