Astra rebuilds Penrose triangle and Ames room in Blender, showing real 3D reasoning

Researcher Wenhao Hu tested Astra's 3D spatial understanding by asking it to recreate illusion images—a Penrose triangle, an Ames room, and Escher's Belvedere—in Blender. Astra built 3D constructions that make sense of the illusions, visible via camera reveals, making him take its visual/spatial reasoning far more seriously with robotics implications. The big gap, he argues, is dynamics: no evidence yet that Astra can predict how actions change the future, the capability he cares about most for world models.
