Viam launches free 90-minute robotics course: build a palletizing robot arm app in simulation

Viam released Viam 101, a free self-paced course (90 minutes, 18 lessons) that runs entirely in browser simulation — no hardware required. Learners build a palletizing application from scratch: a robot arm picking boxes and stacking them on a pallet, covering physical space modeling, motion planning and obstacle avoidance, computer vision, and app deployment; a ROS migration module is upcoming. It's taught by Shannon Bradshaw, who scaled MongoDB University past 1M registrations. Graduates can join in-person hackathons at Viam's NYC robotics lab or port the same app to real hardware.
