Epoch AI reports GPT-6 Astra scored 169 on ECI, a new record up from the prior best of 163 and consistent with the reasoning-era trend. An independent replication project now puts Astra at 169.6 (90% CI 167.6–171.4) across 131 benchmark scores — the largest gap above trendline yet, equivalent to a mid-Nov 2026 pace. Astra also set records on Epoch's math, continual learning, and game-puzzles benchmarks, and ranks between Opus 4.7 and Fable 5 on the MirrorCode long-horizon coding benchmark. OpenAI provided pre-release access.
