Starlink caps heavy 'unlimited' users to 10Mbps after ~5TB monthly usage

Per ISPreview, some UK Starlink residential 'unlimited' customers found their speeds capped to 10Mbps after monthly usage exceeding 5TB (up to 8-9TB in some cases), following a 'Terms of Service Violation' notice — despite some having used the same patterns for years.

Context: Starlink runs 11,100 satellites; UK residential plans start at £40/month for 100Mbps. By mid-2026 it had 13M consumer broadband subscribers (up from 6M in July 2025), 22M mobile DTC customers, and 110K UK customers.
