Citing The Information, Gary Marcus reports Anthropic has committed to roughly $517 billion in compute deals — nearly 3x what it previously told investors — despite not yet having established stable profitability.
He estimates that's about 1000x its most (possibly only) profitable quarter to date, which itself may have depended heavily on a one-time SpaceX subsidy. "The AI money bonfire continues."
