Google Research, working with HHMI Janelia and the broader scientific community, has produced the first complete map of an adult male fruit fly's brain and central nervous system. AI was used to fuse millions of 2D images into 3D neural shapes, reconstructing a record-breaking 166,000+ neurons. The foundational connectome is a major neuroscience milestone that could accelerate brain research. The retweet adds a playful demo playing Bad Apple on the fly brain.
