Zoho CEO Vembu: AI could conquer all mathematics within months; software firms face 'plumber' fate

Ashwinizer · x · 2026-09-06

Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu says we must accept that "all mathematics could fall to AI within some months." Chess-like mathematics—finding ever cleverer moves—is evidently being conquered, while inventing an entirely new game humans would find interesting remains far harder (though humans rarely do it either, and whether that's a fundamental AI limit or ego-saving is unclear—humans set the rules, for now). Quoting him, Ashwinizer argues software companies are intermediaries whose scaffolds are being eaten by newer models: the work is shifting from deploying AI to giving it agency inside the enterprise. Software won't die—it will become as important as a plumber in an office.
