Devin hands-on: nice managed experience, janky frontend, and it won't merge your PRs
ethanniser · x · 2026-09-06
The author tried Devin for coding agents and found the "managed" experience pleasant — especially having Devin send back a verification video — but the frontend flickers with stale state, the PWA is mediocre, and it refuses to merge PRs even when told to.
He argues Devin should learn from Amp's aggressive feature-removal philosophy: things like the progress pane are useless given where agents are now. He plans to keep using it for now.
