AI Detector Pangram Flags All Seven Pre-LLM Human Essays as AI-Generated
After-Yam-7424 · reddit · 2026-09-06
A Reddit user uploaded seven essays written roughly 15 years ago — long before generative AI existed — and AI-detection service Pangram flagged all seven as at least partially AI-generated, clashing with its claimed 1-in-1,000 false-positive rate. Meanwhile, genuinely AI-generated text was judged human-written. The author argues such detectors don't work and only damage people's reputations.
