Large tech orgs putting 10%-25% of teams on PIPs, recruiters say treat it as a paid interview period

A recruiter-sphere post claims several large tech organizations are currently placing 10%-25% of team members on PIPs (performance improvement plans), widely seen as a soft-firing mechanism.

The quoted advice: treat a PIP as a paid interview period — the decision has already been made in meetings you weren't part of, and the process exists mainly to build a paper trail. Unless you pull off a miracle comeback, the right move is to start interviewing elsewhere immediately.
