m3e-canvas hits 2.2k GitHub stars: sketch UI in browser, export prompts for AI coding tools
benaratame · x · 2026-09-05
A Japanese developer announced that the open-source project m3e-canvas has passed 2.2k GitHub stars (161 forks).
- What it does: lets you drag-and-drop Material 3 Expressive components (buttons, cards, navigation bars, dialogs, etc.) in the browser to sketch screens, link them, and tap through them
- The hook: turn the sketch into a single prompt you can paste into any AI coding tool — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor — and generate a working app; the README demos building a recipes app and running it on Android
- Open source: MIT licensed, actively welcoming contributors via Issues/PRs
