_sathvikr · x · 2026-09-05
Organizers of the Caltech Mathathon thanked their sponsors, a lineup of 20+ companies including Anthropic, DARPA, Cognition, Cloudflare, Modal, Mercor, Prime Intellect, a16z, Y Combinator, 8VC, Baseten, and Factory.
The main track — solving and explaining an open problem in mathematics — is judged by independent academics without sponsor involvement; sponsors also run their own pre-written problem tracks, from number-field-sieve-style algorithm improvements to superalignment.
