OpenAI Announces GPT-6 Astra Hackathons in SF and NYC, $50K Credits Top Prize
OpenAIDevs · x · 2026-09-05
OpenAI and Cerebral Valley are hosting GPT-6 Astra hackathons for developers, technical founders, and startup teams — full-day events in San Francisco (Sept 8) and New York City (Sept 10).
- Prizes: $50,000 in credits plus DevDay 2026 tickets for 1st place, $25,000 for 2nd, $15,000 for 3rd, and a year of ChatGPT Pro for all finalists.
- Rules: All work must be built during the hackathon and submitted as a public open-source repo; existing product code doesn't qualify. Teams can build something new or add features to an existing startup.
- Logistics: Teams of up to four, rolling application review with limited capacity, hands-on support from the OpenAI team, and a chance to demo onstage before judges.
