In his debate with Tyler Cowen, Dean Ball argues that even with a trillion robots and the Amazon turned into fusion plants and chip fabs, vastly higher output says nothing about human wellbeing or the relevance of human stock exchanges. His concern is falsifiable: a superintelligent mind evading its creators' control is intrinsically the threat, addressed via testable technical mitigations and public policy.
