Dev builds playable space game Void Explorer entirely with Astra, rendered in threejs and WebGPU
Dimillian · x · 2026-09-05
Developer Dimillian released Void Explorer, a space exploration game made with Astra, where players can explore a universe full of Earth-sized planets and star systems — everything visible actually exists and can be flown to directly.
He praises Astra for translating intent into good gameplay and nailing the art style. In a follow-up he explains the game is almost entirely code-based procedural generation, rendered with threejs and WebGPU, and notes the model is genuinely strong at procedural 2D/3D work instead of relying only on authored assets. The game is playable in the browser.
