Claude Code shipped v2.1.261 just 21 hours after the previous release. Key changes: /status and claude doctor now show why an organization policy failed to load (e.g., a proxy blocking the endpoint); new bashOutputMaxChars and taskOutputMaxChars settings raise how much command/background-task output the model receives inline; CLI surface cleanup removed env vars like ANTHROPICVERTEXPROJECTID. System prompt tokens grew 17.6% (+5,809 tokens), with system share rising from 71.3% to 75.6%.
